Medicare Supplement Plan K Only Pays 10%, Rather than the Usual 20% of All Doctor Bills and Out-Patient Services
Medicare Supplement Plan K also only pays ½ of the hospital deductible of $1,316. It does not cover the Medicare Part B deductible of $183, does not cover Medicare Part B excess and does not cover any foreign travel. The max-out-of-pocket for Medicare Supplement Plan K is $5,120, after which, the plan then pays all gaps fully.
Basic Medicare Plan Benefits:
Hospitalization: Medicare Part A Coinsurance plus an additional 365 days of coverage after Medicare benefits are exhausted.
Medical Expenses: Medicare Part B Coinsurance (80% of Medicare Approved Expenses), 3 pints of blood.
Medicare Supplement Plan K Covers all Basic Benefits except for the Hospital Deductible of $658. Hospital Services are covered Per 60 Day Benefit Period. In other words, if you’re admitted to the hospital, you will owe the $658 deductible. If you are discharged and 60 days later admitted again, you will owe another $658.
Medicare Supplement Plan K covers 100% of the first 20 days in a Skilled Nursing Facility. For days 21-100 Medicare Supplement Plan K will pay $82.20 per day and you will be responsible for the other $82.25 per day.
Medicare Supplement Plan K covers 50% of all Hospice Care and you must meet Medicare’s requirements, including a doctor’s certification of terminal illness.
Medicare Supplement Plan K covers 90% of all doctor bills both in and out of the hospital as well as all out-patient medical and surgical services and supplies, physical and speech therapy, diagnostic tests, durable medical equipment; subject to the Part B deductible of $183 per year.
Medicare Supplement Plan K covers 90% of medically necessary skilled care, supplies and durable medical equipment within the Home Health Care category; subject to the Part B deductible of $183 per year.
Medicare Supplement Plan K limits your annual out-of-pocket expenses per year at $5120. However, this limit does NOT include charges from your provider that exceeds Medicare Approved amounts (called excess charges) and you will be responsible for paying the difference in the amount charged by your provider and the amount paid by Medicare for the service.
